The clock is ticking

.
The brave window washers were just finishing the last blue panes when I got to Jerusalem's Central Bus Station building.
I wonder how they worked their way around the hands and globes of the giant clock.
.
Fortunately a few clouds were in the sky to be reflected for Weekend Reflections.
.
Buses coming from all over Israel enter the building's basement, and departing intercity buses leave via a higher floor.
In between is the happy and busy shopping mall and eating places.
On the highest floors are offices.
.
A recent article in the Jerusalem Post found air pollution levels in the Central Bus Station to be dangerously high and called is a sick building .
For those who work there everyday, I hope they will soon clean up the air and not only the windows.

  3. That clock looks really neat.
As soon as you mentioned the buses enter into a basement, I wondered about the air quality and imagined the choking fumes of diesel. shudder.

  4. I admire these window cleaners Dina - it's a job I couldn't do - too dizzy for me. You've caught the clouds passing by!

  6. So modern and nice looking! The bus station here is pretty icky. It sounds like public transit is popular in Israel. Here it's hard to pry people apart from their cars :)

  9. So much to see in this photo and what a contrast from the sukkot photos. I love sukkot and remember the boxes fontly from our days in Pittsburgh, PA. Your photos bring back memories from Squirrel Hill, a "must see" for you if you ever visit Western Pennslyvania!

  14. Spiderdama, no, this is the new Central Bus Station on Jaffa Street, near the Calatrava bridge.
What you mention, next to Golgotha, is the Arab bus station in east Jerusalem.
