Sharing a bench

.
Face to face, two felines in Chile Square, Jerusalem.
The lion is the symbol of Jerusalem, while the stray cat can be found everywhere in Israel.

This picture has a shadow for Hey Harriet's Shadow Shot meme, an animal for Camera-Critters, and a bench for bench-collectors RuneE and Vogon Poet.
.
When I sat down to drink water, this surprisingly friendly feline proceeded to walk back and forth across my lap.

  1. Is it common in Jerusalem that you place benches in the pavement for the cats to sit in? Just curious........ :D

  2. I like your two cats! The one on the left looks very like mine!

  3. I'm sure that the cat felt itself as a lion - it looks that way. Very comfy on that bench.

Not many benches from me lately. Partly because I just haven't any worth posting, and partly due to lack of time.

    Thank you for the comments!

  8. Cats find their own people, which they educate and train. LOL! They are always frienly to the right people. My post is about a cat, who has trained her manservant properly.
BTW The bench is very good!

  10. Sweet!

I don't want to watch tv, even on the computer! Radio and written press are my things, thanks though.

  11. How lovely - the expression and the capture.

Thanks for your lovely comment on Menton, Dina. You are so right, old towns and villages are so easy to love. You can absolutely feel the years and the history in them.

  12. I saw your comment about a bench on Rune's blog and came by to see it since I love benches (and have my bench blog under PERBS)

This is a beautiful bench and I am glad I did not miss it. I had a very unusual bench shape on my blog Friday. . . IF you care to see it, drop by:

  13. I imagine the kitty looking at the lion and really wondering if he is really related to the big cat. The feline isn't particularly worried, in fact, he will even 'let' you sit on the bench, but only on the opposite side unless you have some kibble treats to offer...

  14. Well, even wild cats need a litltle TLC and the contact with you seemed to do it!
Cute photo of the cat by itself.

  16. bonjour chère Dina,c'est un beau banc.
Cette semaine je me suis assise sur un banc si hilare. C'était construit pour les adolescents mais quelquefois ce que on demande des adolescents c'est un peu trop.

I guess I should translate this is a bit tricky ha ha.
this week I sat on this narrow wooden construction that was intended for adolescents and it was hilariously uncomfortable and this leads to the metaphor of how we sometimes expect too much of kids.

  18. This made me smile. The cat looks like s/he's consulting the lion. A stray that friendly would surprise me too.

  19. Wee feral feline,
are you as fierce as the king
    of all the world’s beasts?

    This is beautiful, Dina.

  21. Great catch with the cat looking at the lion like that!

I'm trying to imagine what the cat was thinking as he looked at the lion in the bench.
