Face to face, two felines in Chile Square, Jerusalem.
The lion is the symbol of Jerusalem, while the stray cat can be found everywhere in Israel.
This picture has a shadow for Hey Harriet's Shadow Shot meme, an animal for Camera-Critters, and a bench for bench-collectors RuneE and Vogon Poet.
.
When I sat down to drink water, this surprisingly friendly feline proceeded to walk back and forth across my lap.
.
Is it common in Jerusalem that you place benches in the pavement for the cats to sit in? Just curious........ :D
ReplyDeleteI like your two cats! The one on the left looks very like mine!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that the cat felt itself as a lion - it looks that way. Very comfy on that bench.
ReplyDeleteNot many benches from me lately. Partly because I just haven't any worth posting, and partly due to lack of time.
Thank you for the comments!
She was glad to share her bench with you, but you had to work for it.
ReplyDeleteGreat shadow shot, Dina, I love the bench! And what a cute and friendly cat! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Thank you for you kind quote of my 'collective' blog. It's obvious that this one will end up there soon!
ReplyDeleteI like the way the cat and the lion are facing each other, great capture :)
ReplyDeleteCats find their own people, which they educate and train. LOL! They are always frienly to the right people. My post is about a cat, who has trained her manservant properly.
ReplyDeleteBTW The bench is very good!
Love the red bench and the feline is just an open invitation to sit a spell traverer.
ReplyDeleteSweet!
ReplyDeleteI don't want to watch tv, even on the computer! Radio and written press are my things, thanks though.
How lovely - the expression and the capture.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment on Menton, Dina. You are so right, old towns and villages are so easy to love. You can absolutely feel the years and the history in them.
I saw your comment about a bench on Rune's blog and came by to see it since I love benches (and have my bench blog under PERBS)
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful bench and I am glad I did not miss it. I had a very unusual bench shape on my blog Friday. . . IF you care to see it, drop by:

I imagine the kitty looking at the lion and really wondering if he is really related to the big cat. The feline isn't particularly worried, in fact, he will even 'let' you sit on the bench, but only on the opposite side unless you have some kibble treats to offer...
ReplyDeleteWell, even wild cats need a litltle TLC and the contact with you seemed to do it!
ReplyDeleteCute photo of the cat by itself.

ReplyDeleteI guess I should translate this is a bit tricky ha ha.
this week I sat on this narrow wooden construction that was intended for adolescents and it was hilariously uncomfortable and this leads to the metaphor of how we sometimes expect too much of kids.

I enjoyed your past posts also.
Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile. The cat looks like s/he's consulting the lion. A stray that friendly would surprise me too.
ReplyDeleteWee feral feline,
ReplyDeleteare you as fierce as the king
of all the world’s beasts?
Stony Shadows
There is something about a bench that I can't define, and why I love taking photos of them.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Dina.
Great catch with the cat looking at the lion like that!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to imagine what the cat was thinking as he looked at the lion in the bench.
That's interesting to learn that stray cats are everywhere in Israel. I had no idea! He/she looks like a happy cat :) Have a great week Dina!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dina for your ever so nice comments! Have a great week, and I'll make sure to include a picture of a Tel Aviv cat in the future, to support your statement about cats anywhere in Israel :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute little thing sitting on the beach. Looks fun.
ReplyDeleteYou hit a "few birds with one stone" with this photo! Cute cat on a bench!
ReplyDeleteNice capture, such a cute little kitty. It looks like she is really looking at the that Lion.
ReplyDeleteSharing a bench...and sharing a post ! Three meme in one post ! Very useful topic and funny.
