The dove of peace climbs upward into the sky.
The banner on this building at Ben-Gurion Airport proclaims that --
El Al announces "This is going to be a good year."
.
Shana tova, may it be so!
We are now near the conclusion of the Days of Awe, those awesome ten days between Rosh Hashana (New Year's day) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) when fateful decisions are made above and below.

The blue skies, both real and painted, are offered for SkyWatch Friday.

And I hope El Al is right! No matter which calendar that's what we all need.
ReplyDeleteShana Tova!
ReplyDeleteMay peace (and sobriety and sense of justice) reign, soon.
PS. Why does the dove has the David Star on it?
Yes it will be!

May this dove bring peace to Israel and surroundings.
ReplyDeleteGonna do a kind of special shabbes post tomorrow morning, as I discovered a marvel. You'll love it!
I'll be still here in Rome for Yom Kippur...
ReplyDeleteShana tova, may it be so indeed!
ReplyDeleteShalom friends and thanks for the good wishes for peace etc.
ReplyDeleteEki, since the banner is sort of an ad for El Al Airlines, our national carrier, the dove's wing has the same marking as an El Al plane, the star of David.
VP, I can't imagine being in Rome on Yom Kippur. In Israel all traffic stops for 26 hours, the radio and TV shut down, most Jews fast. In the rest of the world, life goes on normally.
g'mar hatima tova Dina!
ReplyDeleteHow hopeful, how wonderful a sight. Please have you all a good new year.

ReplyDeleteShana tova my friend, and gmar hatima tova. May this be the year we've all been waiting for.
