.
OK, I confess, even to the Camera-Critters animal lovers--it's me swinging the cat.
.
But Lara LIKES it.
Back and forth, then from side to side, while I say "hoy-dash, hoy-dash" (just like Saba Yisrael taught us to say when my children were small enough to swing).
.
As a finale, I stand Lara on her hind feet and we do "mechi mechi capa-im," hand-clapping with her front paws.
.
Lara is not mine, not a pet. She is an outdoor cat, fed by my neighbor-friends. Born in the wild.
Lara and I are best friends.

I confess: I did that many times in the past. Not always there was... consent, on the other side!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a laid back cat. The cats I knew would never allow that. How wonderful!
ReplyDeletehee hee...
ReplyDeleteA BIG cat, too! You and your neighbors see to it that she isn't anorexic!
amazing that a cat would let you do that! WoW! =)
ReplyDeleteVery funny that the cat like that!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice proof of 'trust'.
ReplyDeletePlease have a good Sunday.
daily athens
What a cute kitty! She must love you too :o)
ReplyDeletebeautiful
ReplyDeleteI was SO happy to hear the fires were over for you.
ReplyDeleteStrange creatures, cats. Once had one that liked being vacuumed. Normally they disappear when the vacuum comes out.
ReplyDeleteLara must really like you to let you swing her like that. You really are best friends.
ReplyDeleteOh this is so adorable I can't stand it. I love that you and Lara are friends. She's as lovely as you are.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious how you and Lara came to discover these routines. Especially since these aren't so common for a cat! (She's a pretty cat, too)
ReplyDeleteThat's the Swing!
ReplyDeleteBoker tov, Dina, I heard a bout the storm. Some friends in Beirut went for a walk along the Corniche, and it almost became a swim. Take care of yourself!
I can see the contentment on her face. Who would have guessed? I also wonder how the routine came to be.
ReplyDeleteShalom friends. Thank you all for your reactions that all gave me a big smile. :D
ReplyDeleteAnn, your cat liked to be vacuumed??
Now I've heard everything!
MaryA and Tapirgal, I don't remember how the swinging started. It's at least 4 years ago.
When Lara hears me coming through the woods, she runs out to greet me on the path. She stands up on two legs, eager for some petting. Maybe from that position it was just easy to pick her up. Maybe it triggered a memory of how I used to swing my children decades ago.
I hear her purring so she must enjoy the stretching that a good swinging gives.
On the other hand, Lara does not agree to be held and cuddled.
Hi Visiting here for the CC and following your blog pls follow me here and
