CD -- Corpus diplomati cars

.
Walking along Agron Street in central Jerusalem means seeing literally tons of American vehicles parked on both sides of the street outside the Consulate of the United States.
(Jerusalem is our capital but most countries are not ready to acknowledge that, so they have their embassies in Tel Aviv and maybe a consulate in Jerusalem.)
.
This big black car was conspicuously clean and shiny so I immediately thought of James and his Weekend Reflections meme.
Result: a nice reflection of a gnarly tree and a distorted me.

  2. I saw a similar reflection in a truck this week, although it wasn't as reflective as this one. This is a great one for the weekend reflection. Great work.

  7. What is it with governments and big black SUVs?

  10. Love the way the tree is reflected in the car and seems to have leaves growing behind it.

  11. Good one for the Weekend Reflections meme, Dina!

It appalls «Louis» that those big, ugly American SUVs are so often used now for diplomatic vehicles.

Here's Ike in a Cadillac Eldorado.

This Lincoln was used by FDR and Truman.

    Truman also used this Lincoln.

Consistent with the current degeneration of American culture, this is "rumored" to be Obama's limousine...

  13. What an incredibly creative shot. I love the tree and nature reflected in the snazzy shine of that vehicle. VERY clever! What a lovely choice for Reflections Weekend.

  14. It's certainly a lot shinier and cleaner than our car, that's for sure.

  15. A nice reflection on the car and an even better one on the absurdity of our Jerusalem Consulates.

  16. Shalom friends! Cloudia called this a "pithy post." Haha, so much fun to say. Thanks for all your pithy comments.
You almost never see black cars in this sunny country. Too hot.
I guess our cars would always be polished if we all had the hired staff of the U.S. Consulate General. (Fortunately I do not have any car to worry about.)

  17. That is a cool reflection. It looks like the tree continues up past the car but it's another tree.
