I wonder where this litter of kittens found food after the only restaurant in our village went out of business.
Did you know? Thursday was World Stray Animals Day.
The organization's website calls it "The day for compassion, care, and action for stray animals worldwide. . . . April 4 is the worldwide celebrated day to give special attention to the 600.000.000 stray animals in the world."
See their Facebook page for all the activities that took place in many countries.

There appeared to be millions of stray cats in Jerusalem when I was there. A sad sight all to often.
ReplyDeleteI hope someone takes care of the kitties.....
ReplyDeleteNever heard of World Stray Animal Day but there are certainly millions of them, aren't there? During my India stays, I am really amazed at the numbers. I wonder how they survive.

Those pigeons get around everywhere!
Thank you, Dina, I hadn't know about this. Our beloved Boz was a stray. Whoever found him on the street had the compassion to take him to a no-kill shelter, where he waited quite a long time until we came. Our lives are blessed by his presence every day.
ReplyDeleteLONG LIVE cats! They are a weakness. Can I say that here?
ReplyDeleteI am not a supporter of anything stray...
ReplyDeleteOver here news appear, that people catch homeless dogs and make them food.
ReplyDeleteYes, mankind finds itself in front of further challenges, again.
Thanks, Dina. I didn't know about this day. My cat Grendel was a stray and had three kittens in our garage, all of which we were able to keep. I hope the cats in your photo find a good home.
ReplyDeleteWe once found three ten days old kittens on the dyke in a box. They couldn't eat by themselves and had to be bottle fed by us every third hour. One died after a few days, another became two and a half years old and was run over by a car. The third one was nineteen when he died.Always a sad moment when a pet dies.
ReplyDeletecrystal, I love that you named your cat Grendel. I think we'll name our next pet Grendel, even if it's a chihuahua or a fish.
ReplyDeletePetrea,
ReplyDeleteI wish I could say I was thinking of Beowulf when I named her, but I was thinking of the pet dog in Thirtysomething :)
:)
ReplyDeleteThe unfortunate thing is that caring for feral cats and chickens in Hawaii has caused a problem. It's a kind thing, but there are so many considerations.
