A Lipizzaner stallion stuck his beautiful head out of his box stall at the Spanish Riding School.
It was a rainy Sunday in Vienna.
And in a dim attic in a century-old Vienna apartment building I found this old flat metal votive horse.
It had come to Austria from a church in Greece.
These photos are what I could come up with for our CDP Theme Day on "black and white in color."
See what other bloggers are posting for the next two days at City Daily Photo website.
In 2015 UNESCO inscribed the Spanish Riding School in The Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity!
You can see more about the Lipizzaners and their palace in my earlier posts.

A handsome horse!
ReplyDeleteYour first photo especially is so elegant.
ReplyDeleteGreat theme day post.
ReplyDeleteThe white horse is a beauty, Dina !
ReplyDeleteGood choice for the theme.
Beautiful horse Dina
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful horse and its position in the stall is perfect for the theme.
ReplyDeleteI like that both of your entries for Theme Day are horses - and one is black and the other white.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like your top photograph. Would love to see one of those horses in real life.
ReplyDeleteThese horses add some life to today's theme -- especially the white one.
ReplyDeleteA white horse qualifies anytime in my book.
ReplyDeleteMB
Horses in general are such handsome, intelligent creatures. And Lipizzaners are horse aristocracy.
ReplyDeleteTwo great choices for a theme that many found difficult.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful horse! When I was a kid I read a book about the Lipizzaner horses - it mentioned the "airs above the ground". If I remember correctly, they are born dark but turn white as they get older.
ReplyDeleteThis is an unexpected photo I thought and then realized it is of Vienna, splendid animal.
ReplyDeleteI have a soft spot for white horses Dina but finding a life size metal horse in an old apartment would have been incredibly unexpected and a wee bit exciting 😀
ReplyDeletePerth, wait wait! The dark metal horse is only the size of your hand.
