We discovered a sealed burial cave from 4,000 years ago.
While sifting the earth that we dug out of the cave, something popped up in the sifting screen. . .
. . . something which immediately caused me to think of Louis la Vache.
Quelle chance--a cow's tooth from one of his Bronze Age ancestors!

Louis probably wants it extradited! :) Good one! Cheers, Klaus
ReplyDeleteStories from the past always intrigue me. So what are in those buckets, Dina?
ReplyDeleteAh ha! "Louis" is very interested in knowing more about his ancestors! "Louis" was delighted with this!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat treasure! I am envious of your job.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful tidbit of info to chomp on!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm. That IS a fascinating find! Your job sounds really wonderful, although I imagine there must be many ordinary moments between each find.
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun! I'm really excited for you!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of "Louis's" ancestors:
ReplyDeleteLa famille Sarchet
How the GOP got its name
How fun! I wonder what else will be found in such an old chamber.
ReplyDeleteCows have very odd looking teeth! I've never seen a cow tooth before.
ReplyDeleteI suppose you'll have that tooth analysed? Should yield some interesting results.
ReplyDeleteFeeling very fortunate to be sort of 'onsite' with you on your dig. Thanks Dina for including us!
ReplyDeleteProbably the closest I'll get in this lifetime.
I haven't been able to wear all the hats I have wanted, sometimes life seems so long, other times, so short, certainly never long enough to be in all the incredible places there are in the world doing some of what is incredible there to do. I think archeology would fill a bill in that respect, like a travel back in time.
So Loius is getting in touch with his
ReplyDeleteancestors now is he. I do think he suffers from mad cow disease. Lets hope his ancestors didn't. Excellent choice today.
Dina, this is fascinating. I enjoy any bit you tell us about your dig. It's a thrill to be along with you.
ReplyDeleteJerez, you put it so beautifully. It would be nice to wear more hats in this life.
