“Full Gas in Neutral”
"An
interactive installation comprised of 30 interactive and colorful
bicycles.
Each bicycle is attached to a flag pole, at the end of which
is a surprising element activated by pedaling.
The installation, which
was placed at Safra Square in August 2013, was created by the artist
Anat Berman and the architect Ilan Berman."

I clicked through to the article. It is amazing the thought that went in to this installation! I have this image of Jerusalem, thanks to your blog, as a place with tremendous creativity combined with pragmatic solutions with an ever-present layer of religion.

Fabulous! These bikes could also be used for creating electricity. This was done during WW II in the Netherlands. It needed one biker and a bike of course. By pedling light was created . Of course the biker couldn't peddle all the time without a break..
ReplyDeleteFun post, Dina! Tthanks.

Mainly suited to the 8 - 100 age group.. I think that's got most covered Dina :) Did they actually say what the unexpected results of cycling would be!
