My two favorite centenarians, in Chicago!
Today we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Rabbi Herman Schaalman's ordination (1941), and tomorrow is Rabbi and Lotte's 75th wedding anniversary.
My Rabbi is 100 and Lotte is 101.
A double mazal tov and lots of love to both!

ReplyDeleteMy late mum and dad made it to their 70th wedding anniversary, which I thought was pretty damned impressive. Who does that, nowadays?

ReplyDeleteMy husband is jewish we raised our only child a daughter jewish, it must be something about the people..Our only lives in NYC and knows many people who have family who live well beyond 100 and are happy and productive..They are kind and loving and wise, look at Bernie Sanders at almost 75 he is vital and vigourous and won't be silenced..Not many can say that anymore, plus many people of the jewish faith are faithful and kind, I know my mother in law lived to almost 87 and her people to the 100's in NYC Brooklyn, our only knows her roots and her people from her daddy's side she is adored, loved and wanted, she seeks their wisdom and they are so sweet, my people from spain and I found out they are Sephardic jewish, wow whee, long live sweet and loving people you posted about!
