The baking of Christmas cookies for the ca. 50 nuns, novices, and postulants of the Community of Grandchamp, plus many expected guests, has begun!
And as a volunteer I got to help. :)

I can just imagine the smell. My mother would make some years a hundred dozen.
ReplyDeleteWow, they really bake cookies in a BIG way! I always enjoy your blog from wherever you write. Thank you so much.

This is a lovely way to spend your time working. All the delicious ingredients, the warm scents filling the air, and just look at all those cookies. This kind of work reaps many delightful rewards I think! I hope you show us more. :)
ReplyDeleteCool photo of you in the glass!
ReplyDeleteWe made cookies today too. :) 'Tis the season.
I can cook very well, but I cannot bake - neither biscuits nor cakes. So I am envious of your productions. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are with the cookies in the kitchen, not the fires! בבקשה להישאר בטוח
ReplyDeleteI too can imagine the wonderful smells (and tastes!). Hope your home in Israel is safe from the fires that have been raging there.
ReplyDeleteTantalising - you reach in to take something delicious but we can't reach into the picture to touch, let alone taste.
ReplyDeleteIt takes a lot to beat the smell of fresh baked cookies Dina ☺ I did think of you when I heard the news of the fires, I know you're not there right now but many of your friends will be.
ReplyDeleteFriends, thanks for your concern about Israel's fires. I follow the situation via Internet and the sisters here are praying for Israel. It's really a tragedy. The humidity there is now only 5% and the strong winds will continue till Monday.
ReplyDeleteI just learned of the fires. I hope that the fires are under control now.
ReplyDeleteMMMM! LOVE COOKIES !
I love it that you are there helping to celebrate Christmas in so many delicious ways. Will you be staying there through Hannukah as well?
