Look! SHEEP! Right here in the foothills of the Swiss Jura Mountains!
My personal Swiss shepherd*, Sr. V., took me up to the hills for a brisk walk on this Shabbat day.
The sun came out for a few hours today after a long time of rain and cold.
* (while I am volunteering at the Community of Grandchamp)
The sheepdog looked a bit like a sheep himself, only whiter.
I was so excited to see such a huge flock.
Right there across the lane from the vineyards. With a fence strung between the sheep and the remaining grapes, of course.
And finally something to contribute to Camera Critters.

ReplyDeleteCrystal, thanks for the link. The Bach cantata is beautiful, and lovely sheep photos to go with it!
ReplyDeleteQuite serene, Dina!
ReplyDeleteAlmost like home! There is something special about sheep, at least to me. Maybe it is because I've been so used to having them around nearly every summer for the whole of my life.
ReplyDeletethat's alot and dog does look same
ReplyDeleteI love the sight of sheep and sheepdogs in the pastures. It is all so clean, green and rural :)
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely scenes. Beautiful photos, Dina.
ReplyDeleteDina, do the Sisters shear the sheep and sell the wool.? Lovely serene photos.
ReplyDeleteAlice, no! Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the flock belongs to the Community of Grandchamp! The sisters keep no animals.
ReplyDeleteSerene and simple...
ReplyDeleteThis is the life!
A lovely pastoral sight! Reminds me of all the sheep I saw while visiting England a few years ago - they seemed to be everywhere. When the snows come, I think the snow white sheep dog will appear to disappear and the sheep will look beige and black-brown.
ReplyDeleteWow! They must have as many sheep as New Zealand.
