ReplyDeletePetrea, yes, wonderful stairs, eh?! They and the 2-story house and the chapel over the tomb of St. Elisabeth were built by the Crusaders in the 12th century. In the 15th C a hermitage was added, adjoining the chapel; and I got to live there for half a year!

P.S. It is on a hillside in the Jerusalem Hills, near Ein Kerem and not far from Jerusalem.
