Horse Yiddish

.

What is a funny old way of saying "a distant relation" in Yiddish?

Dem ferds baytsh-shtekls potkeve
דעם פערדס בייטש-שטעקלס פאטקעווע
Literally: the horse’s whipping stick’s horseshoe!

And what do I miss most about Vienna?
Her beautiful horses clip-clopping around the palaces!

  3. Dina

you were born in the wrong era. You should have been enjoying the Ringstrasse Society of 1890-1914 :)

  4. I actually though this horse and carriage might be in western USA. They are not used for transportation any longer, only shows and parades.
