Can you remember the last time you drew circles with a compass?
From many decades ago I remember the sharpness of the metal point and the pencil lead.
This giant compass welcomes workers and visitors to a hi-tech company, one of many on the sprawling campus of the Omer Industrial Park near Beer Sheva.
Linking to ABC Wednesday and to SkyWatch Friday -- making circles in the sky. :)

That's cool!
ReplyDeleteQuite a sculpture! I haven't used a compass since math classes back in the day.
ReplyDeleteAlways something pleasing about everyday objects transformed into gigantic sculptures, and a little humorous too at times. In the local Water Conservancy Garden here there is a pair of giant garden clippers with purple handles, about 12 feet tall I think. There seems to be no end of interesting objects for you to photograph as you make your way about your locale. It's only Thursday noontime here but I wish you an early "Shabbat Shalom" for tomorrow evening.
ReplyDeleteHello, what a cool sculpture. Great photos! Happy skywatching, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting sculpture Dina Shabbat Shalom
ReplyDeleteThis quite original, almost Masonic...
ReplyDeleteTakes me back to high school... lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the tools in the sky! I used drafting tools last year to make some patterns.
ReplyDeleteThe biggest compass I've ever seen !
ReplyDeleteI love those old-school tools of the trade. I take in plastic lids for my students to use to make circles. Very low tech, but they work. Now I have to get to Jerusalem and Israel to see this sculpture!

I still have my compass set from school days, but confess I don't use it often.

Art was just looking for a compass the other day and we couldn't find one. I used to have several. That is a very cool sculpture.
